Products

Our ultimate goal at Dramatic Changes is to provide the best quality paints and wall coverings, taking into consideration their performance, price, and health & safety when compared to other products available on the market. We also strive to support companies that are local (whenever possible), and those doing good things to support their community.

Paints

There are numerous eco-friendly paint products available locally, each one boasting different characteristics and ingredients. We opt to use those that we’ve tried and tested to ensure that they are of high quality, and cater our product choice to each client’s needs. We’ve learned that not all paints are created equal, and that what might be right for one client isn’t necessarily good for another.

Natural Earth Plaster

We’re so thankful to be able to offer this as an option for our customers. This revolutionary product is the most natural and healthy product we offer. Earth plaster is composed largely of American clays found in the Southwest United States. Among other things, it inhibits the growth of mold and mildew in a space, absorbs moisture from the air (imagine never having fogged bathroom mirrors again, and less swelling of doors and windows during weather shifts). In many cases, it is easier to maintain than a painted room. Imagine a wall that allows you to repair a nail hole just by rewetting the surface and maneuvering the clay into its place. Above all, a clay room is strikingly beautiful, and has the “wow” factor that paints aren’t able to duplicate.

Would we use these products in our own homes?

Yes we would, and we do! At Dramatic Changes, we wouldn’t recommend any product that we feel isn’t substantially better or safer than its traditional counterparts. When we find a new product whose qualities appear to match up to our standards, we often test it in our own spaces before we feel comfortable offering it to our clients.

Are eco-friendly products more expensive?

When it comes to making home renovations or improvements using eco-friendly materials, there’s a common misconception that if something is “green”, it’s expensive. When it comes to paint, it’s often true that you get what you pay for. Our paints typically cost about the same as mid-range or high-quality name brand paints. So, going green with your painting project is not only easy, it’s affordable. Likewise, natural earth plasters are far more affordable than traditional plaster products.

Where did you find these products? Where are they made?

It’s amazing how many eco-friendly products are available here in Virginia. We didn’t have to look far for most of them. One is manufactured in Virginia, and was developed by a small-business owner here in town. Others are made in various parts of the United States. Whenever possible, we purchase products from locally-owned Virginia businesses. It’s the least we can do!
